Barley Malt Sprouts

Containing nearly 25% crude protein, barley malt sprouts are made up of dried sprouts and rootlets produced during the malting or germination of sprouting of barley and shouldn’t be more than 20% of the ration due to the lower energy level.

Barley Screenings

Barley screenings include the total material passing through a screen after the sample barley is subjected to screening. It includes small foreign seeds, and broken or damaged seeds. Generally used for protein.

Beet Pulp

A byproduct from the processing of a sugar beet, it can be supplied as dried flakes or compressed pellets. It is low in sugar, but high in energy and fiber.

Corn Starch

Derived from the endosperm of the corn kernel, it is the main energy source and can be a ration of the complete feed combination.

Cottonseed

High in fiber and lower in energy, cottonseed is a great starter feed. Cottonseed is generally included in grain mixes to increase the density and fiber content.

Linseed Meal

Taken from the flaxseed, Linseed meal is used as a protein supplement and is a good source of selenium.

Corn Screenings

Corn Screenings, containing grain dust, cracked or small kernels, are a good source of protein. Corn Screenings should be added over a period of time rather than all at once.

Damaged Grain

Damaged Grain generally composed of cracked or broken kernels, is used as an energy source for growing cattle diets.

Sunflower Screenings

Sunflower Screenings are a mixture of varying amounts of sunflower hulls, groat pieces, broken seeds, weed seeds, chaff, joins, and elevator dust. It can be used as a protein or fiber source with different minerals and amino acids.

Sunflower Meal

Sunflower Meal is the by-product of the extraction of oil from sunflower seeds. The quality of the meal depends on the plant characteristics and does not have any anti-nutritional factors like other oil meals do. It is rich in protein and sulfur amino acids.

Whey Permeate

A cost savings alternative to whey powder, whey permeate is rapidly soluble and is characterized to reflect protein, ash, and lactose content.
